Video: "How to Use the Document Sharing Program in the Classroom, Scribd"

"Scribd, located at Scribd.com, is a document sharing Web 2.0 application that allows teachers in a digital classroom to search for and share documents of virtually any type in a web-based library. Scribd users can then share documents using a variety of social media tools,"

Although not Scibd's mission, we can also use Scibd as a private site to hold documents we plan to embed on a web site. Turning a Word, PowerPoint, or PDF document into html takes seconds with Scribd.

Caution: This site has ads; I would not give access to students.  Instead, I have my students use the "Hand-In' feature of Novell networks in order to collect the student work I plan to post on a Weebly or library web site. Once I am in my Scribed account, I can upload multiple documents simultaneously from the Hand-In folders, I then mark each private, identify the format I want (i.e. book, slide show, scroll), click the Share/Embed button, and copy and paste the html into my Weebly web site..
